As a self proclaimed introvert, I thrive on alone time and live for deep introspection. My passion is to support others in doing the same. Due to being so comfortable in solitude, it has been a beautiful and soulful mission of mine to create a tribe and to hold a space for people to come and explore their inner landscape while being surrounded by the sweet support of others. I went to my first yoga class over 20 years ago with my mom, and fell head over heels in love! I felt a deep tug from within to practice more and to explore this ancient art of linking movement with breath and awareness. As a teenager I began to study yoga, meditation and herbalism in my free time... and my passions grew. In 2002 I moved from all that was familiar in Atlanta, GA to the beautiful blue ridge mountains, where I yet again fell in love with my newfound sense of "home". While nestled in the mountains, I began my formal studies in herbalism, meditation, holistic lifestyle practices, yoga teacher training and massage therapy through many local schools including The Shanti Collective, The Asheville Yoga Center and The Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. In January of 2016 I went to Costa Rica to deepen my offerings in sacred feminine movement, yogic wisdom and dance through Qoya with Rochelle Schieck, founder of Qoya! I have been teaching and dancing relentlessly ever since!
In my classes, I invite my students to courageously turn inward and to consciously weave together awareness, breath and movement...and to listen to their own body's wisdom. Through actively engaging our awareness in the moment, we meet the opportunity to become active participants in our lives! I am so honored to watch inhibitions fall away as people explore freedom through fluid, present movement that moves beyond words and story lines and taps deep into the well of creative living. The practice of conscious movement opens our awareness to our own inner pathways, which reveals the voice of our own intuition…revealing our own "inner truth as a physical sensation in the body that we can set as north on our compass" (R. Schieck). This assists us in navigating our lives from a place of empowerment and inner knowing.
I have been practicing massage therapy in Asheville for 10 years. Through numerous trainings I have created my own unique take on how to deeply nurture my clients in my sessions. Every session is custom designed to meet the unique needs of the person that I am working with. Massage feels like another outlet to express my love for water, fluid movement and deep nourishment. My passion as a bodyworker is to wrap my clients in a cocoon and to lull them into deep states of relaxation. My prayer is that they reemerge renewed and reminded of the well of wisdom and power within them that can assist in navigating a heart-led and inspired life.
